My Story
I offer therapy in a supportive relationship with a trained professional who has experienced their own psychotherapy

I'm Dr Jo Pang, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and existential psychotherapist based in Norfolk, working online across the UK and internationally (dependent on jurisdiction).
People usually come to me when something has become too heavy to carry alone such as trauma, grief, a life that's stopped making sense, or the exhaustion of navigating a world that doesn't quite fit your way of being. My job isn't to tell you what's wrong with you. It's to help you understand what you're carrying, where it might have originated, and what you want to do about it.
I hold a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, and I'm registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, UKCP, and the British Psychological Society. In practice, that means doctoral-level training in drawing on whatever approach genuinely fits you, rather than applying one method to everyone.
I offer EMDR therapy that works with how distressing memories are stored in the brain and body, often reaching things that talking alone hasn't shifted. Alongside this I work in a body-oriented way, paying attention to your felt sense of a situation, not only what you can put into words. I start from your experience as you actually live it, rather than from assumptions about what it must mean; which matters if you've been misread before. And as an existential therapist, I don't treat distress as a malfunction to be corrected: often it's a reasonable response to something real, and worth understanding rather than silencing. My doctoral research explored how autistic adults experience bereavement, and neuro-affirming practice remains central to my work.
Twenty years across forensic, NHS, social care, third sector, and private settings means there is very little you could bring that would unsettle me.
Therapy with me is collaborative, unhurried and non-pathologising. You're welcome here exactly as you are.
